This policy explains what information Busy Season collects when you use this website or work with us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose. If anything is unclear, email us at hello@busyseasonsites.com.
1. Who we are
Busy Season is a brand of Pierre Narguet, entrepreneur individuel (EI), trading as MicroDev, a micro-enterprise registered in France (SIREN 932 132 566). We design, write and host websites for building-trade businesses in the United States. We are the data controller for the information described here.
We work by email only. We do not run a phone line and we do not do video calls. Contact: hello@busyseasonsites.com.
2. What we collect
Information you send us
- Instant preview: the business name, trade, city, state and phone number you type to build a preview stay in your browser and are not sent to us. When you open the full-screen preview, they sit in the page address after the # sign, which browsers do not send to servers (if JavaScript is turned off, they are sent in the address of the preview page). They only reach us if you ask us to email you the preview or start a plan.
- “Email me this preview”: your email address and the preview details above, so we can send you the link.
- Custom site brief: the same details, plus your license number, years in business, towns you serve, services, the style, colors, pages, features and plan you pick, and any notes you add.
- Emails you send us: your messages and anything you attach, such as your logo and photos of your jobs.
- Information for your website: the content we publish on your site with your approval (business details, license number, photos, reviews, service area).
Payment information
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers. Stripe shares with us the information we need to manage your plan, such as your name, email, billing address, the plan you bought and payment status.
Technical information
Our website is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request, to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics on this site. If we add privacy-friendly analytics later, we will update this page first.
Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers and shares your IP address with Google to download the font files.
3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
| PURPOSE | LEGAL BASIS (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Send you the preview you asked for, prepare your custom homepage and reply to your requests | Steps taken at your request before a contract (art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Build, host and maintain your website, run your plan and support you | Performance of our contract with you (art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Billing, accounting and tax records | Legal obligation (art. 6(1)(c)) |
| A short follow-up email about your preview or your site | Our legitimate interest in following up on a request you made (art. 6(1)(f)). You can ask us to stop at any time. |
| Keeping the site and our systems secure, preventing spam and fraud | Our legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f)) |
We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers we need to run the business. They process it on our instructions:
- Cloudflare, Inc.: website hosting, content delivery and security.
- Resend: delivery of the emails sent when you submit a form on this site.
- Stripe: payments, subscriptions and invoices.
- Our email provider: [name of the email provider], to read and answer your emails. [to complete]
- Services used for your own website, with your agreement, such as your domain registrar, a booking or payment tool if you choose those add-ons, and Google Business Profile if you add us as a manager.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights in a dispute.
5. International transfers
Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, the United States. Where personal data from the European Economic Area is transferred outside it, we rely on the safeguards offered by the provider, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. [to review with a lawyer]
6. How long we keep it
- Requests that don't become a project: up to 3 years after our last contact, then deleted.
- Clients: for as long as your plan runs, then up to 3 years for support and follow-up.
- Invoices and accounting records: 10 years, as required by French law.
- Server logs: kept by Cloudflare for a short period, as set in its own policies.

7. Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct it if it is wrong;
- delete it, unless we must keep it by law (for example, invoices);
- stop using it for follow-up emails, or limit how we use it;
- send it to you or to another provider in a common format.
Email hello@busyseasonsites.com. We reply within 30 days, usually much sooner. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
In the European Union: these are your rights under the GDPR. You can also file a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or with the authority in your own country.
In the United States: some state privacy laws, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA, as amended by the CPRA), give residents the right to know, access, correct and delete personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. We honor the requests above for everyone, whether or not a state law requires it, and we never treat you differently for making one. The categories of information we collect are listed in section 2; their sources, purposes and recipients in sections 2 to 4. [to review with a lawyer]
8. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Access to our accounts is limited to the people who build your site and protected with strong passwords and two-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires. [to review: make sure this matches your real setup]
9. Children
This site and our services are for businesses. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page. If the change is significant, we will tell our clients by email before it applies.
